Large Systems
For larger buildings, with anything from four
to 250 zones, pin-pointing the exact location of a fire is paramount
and requires more advanced technology: analogue addressable
fire detection systems.
This type of system is wired in a loop; the same cable passes through
the entire building and each zone is programmed, with individual
fire detectors each having their own number (address) and text allocated.
A typical loop can take up to 126 devices, all of which are continuously
tested by the control panel.
Helping to reduce FALSE ALARMS
If part of the loop wiring becomes damaged, that particular section
will be shut down whilst the rest of the system continues to operate,
so allowing the fault to be repaired. In the event of a fire or
fault, the control panel provides text descriptions of the condition
detected.
Wire-Free
We also install wire-free radio based fire systems, which
are ideal for listed buildings where cabling would be unsightly
or difficult to hide. The technology is more expensive, but installation
is quicker and there are further cost savings to be gained in maintenance
and servicing costs.
